Clinical Nurse Educator - Cardiology/CCU - Temporary Part Time - The Sutherland Hospital South Eastern Sydney Local Health District REQ655785 Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until April 2027 Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Educator Remuneration : $56.98 - $58.83 per hour plus superannuation Hours Per Week : 16 Location : The Sutherland Hospital, Caringbah Applications Close : 10 May 2026 Where you''ll be working Yarrabee is a Cardiology Department comprising 6 Coronary Care beds, 5 subacute Coronary Care beds and 15 mixed medical Cardiology, renal and endocrine beds. The department manages patients on BIPAP, CPAP, high flow, vasoactive medications, cardiac pacing and exercise stress tests. We provide a continuum from the medical ward to the Coronary Care unit. Yarrabee has 11 beds hardwired for haemodynamic monitoring and 16 mobile telemetry units. The nursing team is supported by a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educator and a Cardiac Assessment Nurse. Responsibilities Coordinate, deliver and evaluate clinical nurse education programs at the ward/unit level. Provide orientation and transition support for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses. Meet the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. Provide clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives. Support the vision of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and the Sutherland Hospital. Qualifications Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Relevant clinical or education postregistration qualification or 3+ years clinical experience in the field. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles). Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills. Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment. Computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems.
