Teacher of Automotive Light Vehicle (Aboriginal Targeted) Paid to Learn Location: Darug Country Mount Druitt Campus Type: 1 x Permanent full-time Package range: $111,798 - $132,585. Package includes salary ($98,499 - $116,813 per annum) employer''s superannuation and annual leave loading. Salary offered based on experience. Applications close: 11:55 pm AEST Sunday 10th May 2026 About the role Were seeking worldclass educators to inspire the next generation of Automotive Light Vehicle students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent fulltime basis, located at Mount Druitt Campus with travel required to Blacktown and other TAFE NSW Campuses. You will deliver educational programmes and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. You will teach the principles of automotive lightvehicle technology, guiding students to develop practical, industryready skills in diagnosing, servicing and repairing modern vehicles. You will lead students through handson workshop activities, faultfinding processes and safe work practices, supporting learners to build a strong technical foundation across engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension and electrical systems, empowering them to confidently progress into apprenticeships and careers in the automotive industry. Essential Requirements Appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate III in Automotive Light Vehicle or equivalent. Teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training, or willingness to undertake the fulltime 14week Paid to Learn course. Minimum three (3) years postqualification experience relevant to your industry, gained no longer than five (5) years previously. Additional Experience Highly regarded but not essential: Qualification gained through an apprenticeship. Targeted Recruitment This role is a targeted recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Aboriginal candidates will be required to provide confirmation of Aboriginality documentation at or before interview. Paid to Learn For candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification, the Paid to Learn programme allows transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work after successful completion of a 14week Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification are still eligible to apply. Prerequisites A Working with Children Check is required. Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia, or New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
