About the role Meredith Dairy Group has recently built and commissioned a small stock abattoir on its farm, located about 10 km West of Meredith in which we process goats and lambs produced from our dairy operation. Candidates must hold valid Australian work authorisation or visa to be eligible for this position. We currently process about 150 small stock a week, with about half being sold as whole carcass, and the remainder requiring butchering and packaging. The abattoir has a small boning room attached to it, containing a very modern bandsaw (with Blade stop), a commercial mincer, and a Cryovac machine. We sell meat to wholesale customers, and also through our farm shop. We are steadily developing our Meredith Farm Produce brand of premium goat meat. We require a butcher who can breakdown carcass''s and prepare a variety of innovative cuts. There is plenty of opportunity for creativity- you will be joining a team that includes enthusiastic sales staff from the Meredith Dairy group, and our Meredith Farm shop. Working hours are negotiable and can be arranged to suit the successful candidate''s availability. The work will be carried out on the property at Meredith. Hours of work are flexible.
