At Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR), we are the Territorys expert on capital infrastructure and property, working collaboratively with our partners to efficiently deliver and maintain high-quality infrastructure, places and spaces for the ACT community. Within Infrastructure Canberra, Delivery Places and Spaces is responsible for whole-of-life asset management, property maintenance, and the delivery of property-related programs and upgrades across the ACT Government portfolio. This includes managing government-owned and managed buildings, coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, and delivering targeted upgrade programs to ensure assets are safe, compliant, fit for purpose and responsive to community needs. The Assistant Director Property Upgrades sits within the Intake and Security business unit, part of the Property Services Operations Branch. Intake and Security delivers property management, maintenance and upgrade services across a diverse portfolio of ACT Government properties, supporting agencies, community organisations and commercial service providers through responsive, customer-focused service delivery. The Assistant Director Property Upgrades provides high-level leadership and coordination of property upgrade works, including disability modifications and security-related upgrades. The role is responsible for overseeing the triage, prioritisation and delivery of works, managing procurement and scope changes, ensuring governance and compliance requirements are met, and monitoring budgets, performance and outcomes. The position plays a key role in stakeholder engagement, working closely with ACT Government directorates, internal teams and contractors to deliver cost-effective, timely and high-quality upgrade outcomes. This role requires strong judgement, coordination and communication skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities, manage risk and support continuous improvement in service delivery. The position also provides leadership, guidance and supervision to staff and contractors, contributing to a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
