Social Security Solicitor Lead a New National Service Location:Parap, Darwin NT Make your work countThis is not a standard legal role. You will lead DCLSs social security practice and deliver a national pilot service. You will work on real issues. Centrelink decisions. Debts. Appeals. You will help people who are under pressure and often out of options. You will also shape how this service works across Australia. What you will do Lead our social security legal practice Deliver advice through a national phone service (NSSATS) Run casework, including complex matters and appeals Identify patterns and push for system change Support and mentor other solicitors Contribute to law reform and advocacy Deliver practical legal education in the community Why this role stands out You lead a key practice area You work on a national pilot, not just local files You see direct client impact every day You contribute to reform, not just advice About you You can hold an unrestricted NT practising certificate You have experience in social security or admin law, or you can build it fast You handle complex work without losing focus You communicate clearly and work well with people You are organised and comfortable with systems You care about fairness and access to justice Desirable Experience with Centrelink decisions and appeals Experience in a community legal centre NT drivers licence What you get SCHADS Level 6 salary (above award) Salary packaging 6 weeks annual leave A strong, supportive team Work that has real impact About DCLSDarwin Community Legal Service provides free legal help and advocacy across the Northern Territory.
