Apply nowShortlist About the role As an Electrician, youll apply your trade skills on Army bases and out in the field while on deployment to neighbouring countries in the Pacific. As a soldier in the Army, youll also perform military duties, serving the nation at home and on deployment overseas. What you''ll do Youll be responsible for performing advanced electrical and general building tasks associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of various military structures. Plus, youll provide engineering services including field power generation and wiring systems. This will help you to command and run a highly skilled team of soldiers and the employment of their equipment. Your trade training is fully accredited and transferrable to similar civilian roles, providing a broader scope for your future employment with excellent long-term career prospects. Locations Following training, electricians are mainly employed in Combat Engineer Regiments and Construction Squadrons located at: Brisbane, Qld Darwin, NT Townsville, Qld. My background can be checkedTo obtain the minimum-security clearance, you must have lived in Australia or have a checkable background for the past 10 years. I have completed Year 10Youll need to have passed Year 10 English, Maths, Science (with physics content) and one other subject preferably with an Industrial Arts content or, alternatively, completed Year 9 and have relevant trade experience. I am reasonably fit and healthyKeeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF. Youll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but dont worry, we''ll give you tips to help you prepare. My drivers licence is not suspended or cancelledYou dont need a drivers licence for this role but if you have one, it cant be suspended or cancelled.
