Group and Team: Place Design, Sport, and Recreation Group, Sport and Recreation TeamLocation: North HobartEmployment status: Permanent Full-timeClassification: Municipal Trades Level 1Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024Salary range: $83,545 to $85,333 per annum (includes 15% loading) + 13.5% superannuation. About the role This role is part of our Sport and Recreation team and plays a key part in keeping Hobarts sporting fields and highprofile parks in top condition. You will help with turf maintenance, facility upgrades, equipment repairs and ensuring our spaces stay safe, functional and ready for community use and major sporting events. Role accountabilities include: Carrying out work programs related to the maintenance of Turf areas. Efficient use of plant, equipment and resources. Completion of relevant documentation. Attendance and participation at team meetings. Prioritising WHS legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance with safe work practices. The opportunity to prepare, renovate and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of turf cricket wickets and other sports surfaces. About you The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the turf management sector including the development and maintenance of sporting fields. Additionally, they should have a proven understanding of irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance processes and the use of turf related machinery and attachments. What you will bring: Successful completion of Certificate III Horticulture, coupled with proven experience in the turf management sector or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and/or experience. Construction Industry White Card. Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. Current Medium Rigid Driver Licence.
