Disability Support Worker (high physical impact activities) Hills Housing & Disability Services (HHDS) seeks casual Disability Support Workers for high physical impact activity roles in therapy assistance, day options, kids and group services. SCHADS Award rates apply, including casual loading and increased rates for late shift, weekends, and Public Hols. Physical RequirementsThis role includes a physically demanding component. Applicants must be able to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role, which include: sustained high levels of energy and active support throughout shifts agility and mobility to assist clients in varied environments a good level of cardiovascular fitness to support active care duties strength for manual handling tasks including lifting, transferring, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and repetitive actions Reasonable adjustments will be considered in accordance with applicable workplace and anti-discrimination laws. Requirements An understanding and commitment to the rights of people living with a disability Comply with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and the NDIS Code of Conduct Rules 2018 Manual handling competency: lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and repetitive actions Effective communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills Pre-requisite and ongoing requirements DHS Clearance for Working with Children NDIS Worker Screening (this is an NDIS RISK ASSESSED ROLE) Cert III Individual Support (Disability) or higher NDIS Online Training all four modules (certificates) Assist with Medication (certificate), refresher every 12 months Manual Handling (certificate), refresher every 24 months Infection Control (certificate), refresher every 24 months Equal Opportunity StatementHills Housing & Disability Services is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
