This role is responsible for the provision of high quality culturally comprehensive services, to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for Aboriginal patients while they work towards meeting requirements for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner. The Aboriginal Health Unit at Dubbo Health Service provide a crucial link between the Health Service and the community. They are essential in establishing and building relationships between Aboriginal patients and care clinicians to achieve best patient outcomes. The team delivers culturally appropriate and clinically competent health care and health education to patients and assist in providing education to staff across the Health Service to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery. The role networks and liaises with the multidisciplinary team, Government and non-Government service providers, to ensure a coordinated approach to health care service delivery and is operationally responsible to the Executive Team at Dubbo Health Service through the Aboriginal Health Unit Manager. You will be supported by your team, the multi-disciplinary team and the Aboriginal Health Leadership team from the strategic directorate.
