The Prevention Specialist provides high-level specialist advice and independently leads complex prevention engagements, programs and service improvement opportunities across Work Health and Safety. The role contributes to the design, refinement and delivery of prevention products and services that improve customer outcomes, support sustainable workplace change, and contribute to scheme performance. Analyse workers compensation, injury, risk and organisational data to identify key risk drivers, emerging issues and opportunities for improvement. Deliver practical, evidence-based prevention advice, interventions and support tailored to customer needs. Support employers to strengthen systems, controls, leadership capability and workplace practices to reduce workplace injury risk and improve outcomes. Provide specialist advice and support in workplace risk prevention, with deep expertise in either physical safety, psychosocial risk, or both. Lead complex and sensitive customer conversations where barriers to improvement, competing priorities or resistance to change exist. Synthesise complex information into actionable reports to support employers in making changes and improvements. Lead prevention products, programs and service improvement Lead the delivery of prevention products, programs and services within area of expertise, ensuring quality, consistency and customer value. Identify opportunities to improve prevention products, service models and customer experience based on evidence, customer insights and operational learning. Contribute to the design, testing, refinement and implementation of new prevention initiatives, tools and resources. Support scalable approaches that improve service reach, accessibility, effectiveness and impact. Contribute to evaluation activities, case studies and service improvement processes to strengthen prevention outcomes. Build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders Build trusted relationships with employers, industry partners, brokers, agencies and stakeholders to support practical and sustainable workplace change. Influence customer leaders and decision-makers to strengthen prevention capability and improve workplace risk management practices. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery. Foster productive relationships with key external stakeholders including industry bodies, regulators, service providers and partners. Represent icare and the Prevention team at internal and external meetings, forums and events as required. Provide specialist leadership and contribute to team capability Act as a specialist within the Prevention team, contributing to service quality, consistency and best practice. Share knowledge, mentor advisors/team members and support capability uplift across the team. Contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, resources and approaches that improve team effectiveness. Maintain contemporary knowledge of workplace health and safety, psychosocial risk, injury prevention and relevant industry trends. Support a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing team culture. Skills & Experience Significant experience in workplace injury prevention, workplace health and safety, psychosocial risk, wellbeing, organisational risk improvement or related advisory roles. Demonstrated experience delivering practical prevention solutions that improve workplace outcomes. Experience leading complex customer engagements and influencing sustainable workplace change. Experience contributing to the design, improvement or delivery of prevention products, services or programs. Ability to work with autonomy, sound judgement and accountability. Strong business and customer understanding. Demonstrated ability to analyse data and insights to identify workplace risk drivers and opportunities for prevention improvement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and engage a range of stakeholders and synthesis complex information into formal written reports. Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex work and deliver quality outcomes. Relevant qualification (Diploma level) in work health and safety, psychology, behavioural science, allied health, human factors, organisational development, risk management or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Role may require travel within NSW Pre-employment checks Desirable Experience in workers compensation, insurance, regulator or advisory environments. Experience in both physical and psychosocial risk prevention. Experience supporting evaluation, service improvement and innovation initiatives.
