This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates for structural steel packages across large-scale projects. Youll work closely with construction, engineering, and project teams to analyse complex scopes, assess risk, and deliver high-quality tender submissions that support successful project outcomes. Responsibilities: Review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications to prepare detailed material take-offs Estimate fabrication, welding, and installation costs for structural steel packages Develop construction methodologies and installation approaches as part of the estimating process Prepare tender submissions, including pricing, clarifications, and supporting documentation Coordinate and issue subcontractor and supplier pricing enquiries Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations during tender and project phases Participate in tender reviews and contribute to commercial decision-making Maintain estimating data, including cost libraries and manufacturing norms Ensure tender submissions meet quality, compliance, and client requirements About You You are a detail-oriented and commercially aware estimator with strong experience in structural steel. You enjoy working across complex scopes and contributing to successful tender outcomes in a fast-paced construction environment. You bring: 5+ years experience in structural steel estimating Trade qualification in Boilermaking or similar Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications Experience estimating fabrication, welding, and installation projects Solid understanding of construction methodologies and site installation practices Advanced Excel skills and strong overall computer literacy Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tender deadlines Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels Familiarity with Australian Standards and compliance requirements. Experience working directly with customers in complex technical environments Highly regarded: Experience working on Tier 1 construction or TMR projects Experience in large-scale or complex structural steel packages Exposure to both workshop fabrication and site installation environments
