Join the team at Optus Stadium as the permanent and fulltime Head of Events, where you will lead the strategic integration, planning, and delivery of worldclass major events and venue activities across the Stadium and Stadium Park. Acting as the vital operational link between the venue, hirers, and partners, you will champion a fans first culture that prioritises safety and exceptional guest experiences. As a leader, you will be responsible for mentoring a highperforming Events team, driving process improvements, and ensuring operational excellence is achieved with precision and efficiency. In this role you will: Lead the endtoend planning and delivery of the Stadiums major events program, ensuring seamless integration across all internal departments and external agencies. Serve as the primary operational liaison for key hirers and partners, balancing their requirements with the Stadiums commercial and operational objectives. Oversee the safe, efficient management of the venue on both event and nonevent days, maintaining worldclass standards and a fans first guest experience. Develop and manage event budgets, identifying costsaving efficiencies and commercial opportunities while overseeing event rosters and precinct traffic planning. Lead the development of comprehensive risk assessments, contingency plans, and emergency procedures, serving in critical roles such as Venue Manager or Event Control Room Manager during live events. Manage and develop the Events team, fostering a culture of professional growth, high performance, and continuous process improvement. Drive a safetyfirst culture across all planning and execution phases, ensuring compliance with best practices and mitigation strategies. To be successful, you will have: Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia (no restrictions on hours or working for the same employer). Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar senior management role within a major venue or largescale event environment. Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Venue Management, or a related discipline. Proven experience in venue operations, including leading emergency management operations. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly master new software and systems. Ability to coach and develop a highperforming team while building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including strong numerical literacy for reporting and budgeting. Sharp analytical thinking and problemsolving skills, with an ability to remain calm and decisive during tight deadlines or critical incidents. A passion for the guest experience and a resultsdriven approach to service delivery. Physical stamina to work in a handson, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions, with sustained movement required throughout event delivery. While the standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, the nature of the event industry means you will be required to work outside these hours, especially during events held at Optus Stadium and Stadium Park.
