We are excited to advise that we have opportunities for New Fire Fighter Recruits to join the Fire and Rescue operations at FLEET BASE WEST, WA. Ventia has over 35 years experience working with Defence providing Firefighting Services. With a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 +2 +2 years, now is the time to join Ventias Fire Services. About The Roles These exciting positions will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to emergencies including incidents involving vessels at harbour, aviation, structural fire and bushfire. You will perform duties as directed by Station Management including but not limited to: Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures. Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed. Complying with operational health and safety requirements. Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness. Of most importance is a positive cando attitude. We will train you! Ideally, but not essential, you will have some emergency response experience. For example, on a mine site, in aviation, in marine, on rail etc. You need to be fit and willing to undertake a detailed fitness assessment, a willingness to undertake extensive training and development, be a focused team player with an emphasis on safety that will be at the forefront of everything you do. Special Conditions These positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level1 Secret). Therefore, Applicants Must Be an Australian Citizen. Be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check. Successfully complete a CASA Basic Class2 preemployment medical.
