The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the shortstay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. In this role, you will deliver complex mental health assessments, targeted nursing interventions and coordinated referrals aligned with current guidelines and bestpractice standards. Your specialist understanding of mentalhealthspecific assessments, clinical treatments, referral pathways and psychoeducation will be central to your work, and you will actively contribute to clinical reviews and allocation meetings as a valued member of the multidisciplinary team. What You Will Bring To The Role Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel Postregistration qualifications in Mental Health Nursing with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in a Mental Health speciality area, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation. An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement those within clinical practice utilising their clinical expertise with the ability to work independently. Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve consumer outcomes as part of a team Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers and a diverse range of health care providers Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities according to best practice Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development Ability to work independently with minimal supervision maintaining involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
