Youll contribute your marine engineering and seamanship expertise to maintain vessels, deliver operational services, and support mission readiness. Working closely with experienced crew and leaders, youll help ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence. Your work will directly support Defence activities that make a real difference.As a Marine Engine Driver 1 NC in the Serco Defence DMSS team, youll make a positive impact by:Operating vessels as Engineer or General-Purpose HandManaging fuel transfers and monitoring tanker operationsSupporting vessel maintenance and engineering tasksCoordinating shipboard drills and safety exercisesCompleting maintenance plans and system work ordersEngaging professionally with customers and stakeholders Qualifications and FitYou Could Be a Great Fit If You HaveThe highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviourCertificate of Competency as issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) as a Marine Engine Driver 1 Near Coastal (NC)Current First Aid CertificateDemonstrating experience in maritime or vessel operationsApplying safety, environmental, and quality standardsKnowledge of Royal Australian Navy (RAN) operating practices and proceduresCurrent Drivers Licence (National Code Class C)Using basic MS Office and asset management systemsFamiliarity with vessel monitoring and stability systemsAbility to obtain and maintain a minimum of Defence Security Clearance BaselineAbility to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) where required by the businessWorking confidently both independently and within a team Additional InformationAre you ready to do important work that really matters?
