About The Position You will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Muswellbrook Waste and Recycling Facility and the Denman Waste Transfer Station, helping to ensure waste is managed efficiently and safely while maximising resource recovery opportunities. The role is referred to as Waste Operator within Council. Key Responsibilities As a Waste Facility Team Member, you will maintain the waste facility and contribute to the overall upkeep and efficient operation of the site. Ensure a high level of customer service to all patrons of the facility. Operate the weighbridge; collect appropriate money, and maintain all necessary computer records. Monitor and inspect materials entering the waste facility, giving the necessary guidance and direction needed for patrons to access specified areas within the facility. Liaise with other staff members to determine suitable products for the Recovery Shop. Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power), perform general labouring duties including, but not limited to, mowing and whipper snipping. Ensure compliance with Council Policies and Procedures; as well as legislative requirements relevant to the position. Undertake manual collection and relocation of varied materials within the Waste Facility. Work collaboratively in co-operation with all team members to achieve Council''s waste operational goals. About You Certificate III in Waste Management, or 12+ months relevant experience, or willingness to complete the course. Proven Year 10 level literacy/numeracy with ability to complete forms, data entry, and basic cashiering. Current NSW White Card (Construction Induction Certificate). Class C Drivers Licence or higher. Experience operating facilities in line with safety and EPA guidelines. Weighbridge Operations Statement of Attainment, or willingness to obtain. What We Offer Full Time, 38 hours per week, with a Salary from $60,120 to $67,546 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation and a 9-day fortnight; rotating roster across weekdays and weekends. 40% discount on yearly Aquatic and Fitness Centre membership for staff and families at local facility (conditions apply).
