About your new role As a Speech Pathologist with Narrabri Community Health Service, you will enjoy a varied and engaging caseload across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. The role provides the opportunity to deliver care in hospital, clinic, and outreach environments, offering a wellrounded and rewarding clinical experience. You will work with clients of all ages, supporting a wide range of communication and swallowing needs. This includes exposure to areas such as speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, allowing you to broaden and strengthen your clinical capability. Opportunities to facilitate group programs and contribute to education initiatives are also available. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will share your expertise and collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver coordinated, personcentred care. You will be supported by experienced clinicians locally, along with guidance from the Northern Speech Pathology Lead, ensuring access to supervision, mentoring, and ongoing professional development. You will also be part of the wider HNE Speech Pathology network, providing further opportunities for learning and connection. Responsibilities Provide assessment and intervention for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Deliver individual and group interventions, including facilitation of community programs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate personcentred care. Maintain clinical records and participate in case reviews. Support ongoing professional development and participate in peer supervision. About the service Narrabri Community Health brings together a dedicated multidisciplinary team, where Speech Pathology plays a key and valued role. You will work in close partnership with community and acute teams to support integrated and holistic care delivery. The service promotes a strong culture of learning and collaboration, with regular inservices, case reviews, and shared professional development opportunities. Based within the recently established Narrabri Hospital, you will work across a range of settings including inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, community programs, and group services. About you You are passionate about rural healthcare and excited by the diversity and unique experiences that rural community practice provides. You enjoy building strong therapeutic relationships and bring excellent communication skills that enable you to connect with people from varied backgrounds. You value teamwork and collaborate effectively with other health disciplines to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. All payments to parttime and contract employees will be made on a prorata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. Please note: the increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.
