About the role and team We have an opportunity for a full-time Migration Paralegal to join our team within the Employment section. Our Employment section consists of 50 team members nationally. The team assists a range of businesses, from large multinationals to small corporations and highnetworth individuals, using wideranging expertise in Australian immigration law. The Migration Paralegal provides essential technical and administrative support with a primary focus on assisting partners, senior associates, and other team members in the preparation and lodgement of visa applications. This role is designed for a detailoriented individual looking to build a career in Australian migration law. Responsibilities Case Support & Documentation Assist the team in compiling and organising supporting evidence for Employer Sponsored (482/186) and other visas. Prepare draft forms and basic cover letters for review by lawyers. Manage the collection of client documents (passports, qualifications, and police clearances) and ensure they meet departmental specifications. Coordinate the scheduling of medical examinations and biometrics appointments for clients. Administrative & Data Management Maintain and update client records in the firms practice management system. Monitor VEVO for visa grants and expiry dates, providing weekly reports to the senior paralegal. Upload finalised applications to ImmiAccount and track the progress of pending lodgements. Assist in the preparation of invoices and the tracking of departmental/skills assessment fees. Client Interaction Act as a secondary point of contact for clients, providing updates on application status and responding to routine administrative queries. Handle phone and email inquiries professionally, ensuring all messages are relayed to the senior paralegal or lawyers promptly. Professional Development Participate in mentoring sessions with the senior paralegal to develop a working knowledge of the Migration Regulations 1994. Attend internal training sessions and stay informed about basic policy changes published by the Department of Home Affairs. About you 2+ years of experience (previous exposure to migration law is mandatory). Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal studies. A clientcentric mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn ImmiAccount and VEVO. A zeroerror mindset when handling sensitive personal data and filing government forms. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
