Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.Position Profile The Consultant Psychiatrist - Ward 2k works with the multidisciplinary Service Team to provide assessment and specialist psychiatric services for voluntary acute patients requiring specialist mental health care between the ages of 18 to 65. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Medical Co-Director, Clinical Leads and other Consultants, works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.Ward 2k is a 14 bed newly furbished unit that houses voluntary patients that are considered to be low risk but require care in a health care setting. The consultant is well supported by at least two junior doctors, with the option of having a psychiatry trainee.
