Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and many others.With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.About The Role DroneShield is seeking an experienced Commercial Director with a strong background in sales and business development to join its global sales organisation. The role can be based in Canberra or Sydney and will play a critical role in expanding DroneShield''s footprint across Asia-Pacific.Reporting to Chief Commercial Officer, this position represents a rare opportunity to help shape growth strategy in a fast-growing, strategically important region within a rapidly scaling defence technology company.The role sits within a lean, high-performing global sales team and is supported by Field Service Engineers and senior leadership. Sales motions include a mix of direct sales to end customers, as well as distributors and system integrators.The primary geographic focus of this role will be North and South-East Asia, with an emphasis on Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.In addition, the role will support expansion across emerging South-East Asian markets that are showing increasing demand for counter-drone and electronic warfare capabilities. Australia will remain an important stakeholder market, but the role is primarily outward-looking and internationally focused.As a senior commercial role within a scaleup business operating in a relatively new industry, the successful candidate will be both strategic and handson.A competitive compensation package is offered, including a strong base salary, uncapped commission, and equity participation.Responsibilities, Duties And ExpectationsDevelop and execute regional gotomarket strategies across North and SouthEast AsiaOwn and grow revenue across priority markets, with a focus on Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and ThailandIdentify, create, and prioritise strategic target account listsProspect and qualify leads through multiple channelsWork closely with Field Service Engineers and internal stakeholders to conduct meetings, demonstrations, and site visitsMaintain active engagement with new and existing prospects through thoughtful and structured followupLead seniorlevel commercial discussions with government, defence, and enterprise customersBuild, manage, and support distributor and integrator partnershipsRepresent DroneShield at regional industry events, conferences, and trade showsSupport system demonstrations, trials, and installations where requiredContribute to product documentation, manuals, and standard operating proceduresAssist with distributor and customer training on DroneShield systemsQualifications, Experience And Skills515 years'' experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadershipDefence, security, or government sector experience preferred but not mandatoryExperience working with smaller system integrators and partners strongly preferred over large defence primesTechnical degree highly regarded; alternatively, a proven track record working with complex RF, radar, EW, or sensorbased technologiesDemonstrated success in developing and closing complex dealsAbility to operate independently while collaborating effectively with a globally distributed teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsHighly motivated, proactive selfstarterHigh attention to detail and followthroughCreative, lateral thinker comfortable operating in ambiguous, fastmoving environments#J-18808-Ljbffr
