This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated culinary professional who is passionate about food preparation, kitchen operations, and delivering high-quality dining experiences.About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, preparing and presenting quality meals, and ensuring consistency in food standards while working in a fast-paced caf environment.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Planning and preparing high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications and customer expectations. Designing and updating menus while considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and food trends. Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained. Supervising kitchen operations and coordinating kitchen staff during service periods. Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety procedures. Inspecting food supplies, ingredients, and finished dishes to maintain freshness and quality control. Managing stock rotation, ordering supplies, and minimising food wastage. Training and mentoring kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures. Collaborating with management to introduce new menu items and daily specials. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, preparation areas, and storage facilities. Skills and Experience Required: Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or related field. At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy hospitality environment. Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills. Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements. Ability to supervise and work effectively within a team environment.
