The Museum of Old and New Art challenges conventions through its eclectic and provocative collection, and behind every exhibition and acquisition is a registration team that keeps it all moving with precision and care. This role sits at the heart of that work, supporting both the Collections and Exhibitions Registrars across a broad range of collection, loan and exhibition activity. The Gig: Assist the Collections Registrar with the acquisition of new works into Mona''s collection, including artwork files, unpacking notes and installation manuals. Respond to copyright enquiries and assist with artwork cataloguing and related documentation, including object parting and packing units. Provide support to the Exhibitions Registrar during exhibition changeover periods, including receiving and dispatching freight and documenting the packing and installation of artworks. Assist with the photography of Mona''s collection, including generating artwork lists from Vernon CMS, preparing schedules and art handling. Coordinate and supervise object movements between Mona''s sites, tracking location changes and related activities in Vernon CMS. Provide administrative support for the Registration and Art Management teams, including processing invoices and taking meeting minutes. Participate in the functional enhancement of Vernon CMS and collection management systems, contribute to collection inventories and engage with exhibition and collection working groups. The You: Prior experience in a museum-based registration role, with a solid understanding of the museum landscape and how registration functions within it. Cultural sector tertiary qualifications, or equivalent knowledge acquired through professional experience. Considerable knowledge of Vernon CMS and museum artwork cataloguing standards, including collection management principles and procedures. A working understanding of freight procedures and logistics for the movement of artworks, both within Mona and externally. Familiarity with copyright and licensing principles as they apply to cultural collections. Composed under pressure, accurate under demand, and genuinely invested in process integrity.
