Key duties of the teacher may include but are not limited to: Differentiate and deliver engaging curricula with support form the Indie Curriculum team. Planning, writing and delivering structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student. Embedding best practice pedagogy into lesson plans to engage students. Working collaboratively in a small team to implement feedback. Embracing opportunities to participate in coaching and mentoring programs. Supporting students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness. This includes personalising the learning for individual students pursuant to the levels of adjustment of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). Collaborating to write Individual Learning Plans for all students. Embedding the strategies from Individual Learning Plans in lessons to support the needs of the student. Providing timely and specific feedback to students to support learning growth (particularly through formative assessment practices). Assessing and reporting student achievement and progress. Behaviour management (including an understanding of trauma-informed practice or a willingness to gain this knowledge). Building positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries. Supporting students to experience success.
