Overview The Capital Airport Motel is looking for a full-time assistant manager to form part of our three-person management team working in our school group focused accommodation. This position offers an excellent work/lifestyle balance, with good working conditions, weekday focused work and extended annual holiday leave. Additionally, this role will come with live in accommodation provided as part of the employment package. About the Company The Capital Airport Motel is a school accommodation specialist located in Queanbeyan. We provide accommodation, meals, and entertainment services to both primary and secondary school students during their Canberra excursions. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our guests through a professional and friendly work environment. About the Position This is a full-time position that involves working alongside our two managers to ensure the motel is maintained and operating to its full capacity while upholding an appropriate standard of service and quality. The position offers excellent opportunities for work/lifestyle balance with the following benefits: Convenient Monday-Friday working weeks with extremely minimal weekend work Extended annual holiday guaranteed 6 weeks annual leave with potential for additional leave This is a hands-on management role, that will require active participation in roles within the business as well as working alongside the Managers to coordinate and organise motel staff and oversee operational procedures of the business. Roles and Responsibility Reporting to the Managers, this position will include the following roles and responsibilities: Rostering and coordination of staff Supervision and monitoring of all aspects of motel operation, including: Housekeeping Catering/Kitchen Entertainment Office procedures Take an active hands-on involvement in certain positions within the business Interaction with customers to ensure positive and productive outcomes Assist with and provide instruction to the process and procedures associated with Check-ins/Check-outs of guests (most commonly large groups of schools) Deal with conflict or complaints brought forward by guests or employees of the business Ensure all aspects of the business operate smoothly and within the operational procedures of the business.
