Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital St John of God Subiaco is welcoming additional specialists and expanding our capacity. We are looking for a skilled Orthopaedic Technician to support our growing fourtheatre suite and contribute to highquality neuroperioperative services. The Orthopaedic Technician will support all aspects of patient care during Orthopaedic procedures and deliver patientcentred care in all interactions with our patients. The role is offered on a Permanent Fulltime basis working 38 hours per week. Responsibilities Safely position patients, maintain dignity, and ensure all orthopaedic equipment is prepared, functionally correct, and used in line with policies and manufacturer guidelines. Communicate and collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing, technical, and support staff, following directions within the operating room and participating in ongoing education related to orthopaedic procedures. Coordinate and manage orthopaedic loan equipment and materials by liaising with the Clinical Coordinator, sourcing required equipment at least 24 hours prior to procedures, verifying accuracy and compliance with hospital standards, and participating in trials and evaluations of new equipment. Ensure orthopaedic equipment readiness by maintaining, troubleshooting, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring all equipment is decontaminated and sterilised in accordance with AS4817 and hospital policies, while actively supporting and taking direction from the perioperative team. Actively seek and update procedural knowledge through attending inservices and observing operative techniques. Qualifications Extensive experience in Orthopaedic Surgery with demonstrated knowledge of orthopaedic equipment and its appropriate application. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workloads effectively. Sound communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology. Accurate, efficient keyboard, computer, and data entry skills. Commitment to placing patients at the core of care and supporting our Mission and Values. Benefits Salary: $79,060 to $87,204 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
