Salary: Level 6, $120,457 - $132,753 pa, Public Sector CSA Agreement 2024Closing Date: 2026-05-12 4:00 PM (YYYY-MM-DD)Location: Victoria Park, Western AustraliaJob TitleBiosecurity Compliance CoordinatorAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Biosecurity Compliance Coordinator to lead the Departments multidisciplinary Biosecurity Compliance Section. In this senior operational role, you will provide strategic and tactical leadership across education, inspection, investigation and enforcement activities, ensuring effective compliance outcomes across aquatic, plant, animal, invasive and environmental biosecurity portfolios.You will play a key role in driving best practice compliance programs, managing complex investigations, strengthening operational capability, and collaborating with internal and external partners to help protect Western Australia from pest and disease threats.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and tactical leadership across education, inspection, investigation and enforcement activities; ensure effective compliance outcomes across aquatic, plant, animal, invasive and environmental biosecurity portfolios; drive best practice compliance programs; manage complex investigations; strengthen operational capability; collaborate with internal and external partners.QualificationsA confident and credible leader with substantial experience managing compliance and investigative teams in a complex regulatory or law enforcement environment, ideally within biosecurity.Strong legislative knowledge, sound judgement, a drive for continuous improvement and the ability to translate risk and intelligence into effective operational responses.Welldeveloped communication and relationship building skills; excels at working collaboratively, leading people through change, and delivering results in dynamic and highstakes environments.EligibilityTo be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia.
