Close knit and collaborative team ready to support a revitalised 8bed Special Care Nursery. Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join our team on a fulltime or parttime basis. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply. About the Role Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189bed acute private hospital facility colocated on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital houses 11 theatres (including a hybrid theatre), a 15bed Intensive Care Unit, a cardiac suite, a cardiac catheter laboratory, a 16bed Coronary Care Unit, and a private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites, 38 antenatal/postnatal rooms and a Level2 Special Care Nursery. The Registered Nurse/Midwife will provide care within this environment. Responsibilities Provide quality nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual patient and newborn care. Maintain a standard of care appropriate to the level of experience and education, ensuring highquality nursing care in a safe environment. Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an effective communication atmosphere. Partner with patients and families in decisionmaking regarding care, fostering beneficial relationships. When required, work within the postnatal ward. Qualifications & Criteria Current registration with AHPRA. At least 2 years postgraduate experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or Special Care Nursery. Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery. Experience working with a childcheck. Commitment to quality patient care and compliance with ACQSHC national standards. Sound clinical decisionmaking and problemsolving skills. Excellent communication and customerservice skills; works well independently and within a team. Intermediate computer skills. Successful candidates will receive a salary based on their years of relevant registered nursing experience, in line with the Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement2024, ranging from $43.34 to $54.89 per hour.
