About Uniting Tamworth Uniting Tamworth comprises two colocated facilities operating as a single service: McKay House, home to 60 residents across three households, and Alblas Lodge, also supporting 60 residents across five smaller household clusters. Our dedicated catering team has the opportunity to deliver services from a central production kitchen, while also engaging directly with residents through meal service within each household. About the Role Were seeking a dedicated Head Chef to deliver highquality, nutritious meals tailored to the unique dietary needs of our aged care residents. Working within the strengthen standards, amazing meals and inhouse cooking play a critical role in the quality of life of our residents. This role is ideal for someone empathetic, adaptable, and committed to excellence in food service. The hours for this position are between 6:30am2:30pm, Monday to Friday. What Youll Be Doing Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including texturemodified options. Plan and rotate menus in consultation with the Service Manager and residents. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements. Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines. Foster a safe and respectful kitchen environment, adhering to Safe Work Practices. Who Were Looking For Qualified Chef with a minimum Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent. Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW Food Authority). Strong understanding of HACCP & food safety legislation including NSW Food Act & Guidelines for Vulnerable Persons. Minimum 2 years experience in commercial kitchens; experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly regarded. Experience with dietary needs, nutrition requirements, and modified diets. Ability to lead, train, and develop staff across a diverse team. Familiarity with cookfresh and cookchill methodologies. Strong understanding of dietary controls and texturemodified food preparation.
