OverviewDarwalla is actively recruiting for candidates to work as part of a small, motivated team on our poultry rearing farm located at Killarney on the Southern Darling Downs. Our rearing farms rear day-old chicks to become our future fertile egg layers.ResponsibilitiesCarry out a wide range of physical tasks including placing day-old chicks, catching birds, vaccinating birds, grading birds, and cleaning out sheds.Hours and Work EnvironmentHours are seasonal to meet production requirements. Typical work hours are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, 45 days per week across 7 days. Expect 2537 hours per week when in season. Overtime is occasionally available. The farm is in a rural location and requires a drivers licence and reliable transport.The poultry industry has strict bio-security and animal welfare standards. Employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry, or pigs, and from residing with others who work at poultry or pig farming sites. If you keep poultry, birds, or pigs at home, you cannot work for Darwalla in this role.
