Tree Management Officer (Proactive Inspections) Job No: SSC1782 Location: Sutherland Shire Help protect and enhance the urban tree canopy that supports our community. Position Overview As a Tree Management Officer Proactive Inspections, you will play a critical role in Councils urban forestry program by undertaking systematic inspections and assessments of tree assets across the Shire. Your work will ensure trees are managed safely, responsibly and in line with arboriculture best practice and Councils strategic frameworks. You will focus on identifying risks, monitoring tree health and condition, and contributing to proactive inspection programs that balance public safety with canopy preservation. Working closely with the Tree Canopy Management team, you will support the delivery of Councils Delivery Program and Operational Plans while embracing continuous improvement and innovation. Who Were Looking For You are a passionate and knowledgeable arboriculture professional who values sustainability, safety and community outcomes. You bring strong technical skills alongside the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. To be successful you will have A Diploma of Arboriculture (AQF Level 5) and a Class C Drivers Licence Demonstrated experience undertaking tree assessments, inspections and risk management Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solutionsfocused approach Experience developing proactive inspection programs and preparing clear, accurate technical reports A commitment to bestpractice arboriculture, public safety and continuous improvement Benefits Permanent fulltime position with flexible 19day month option through Councils flex system.
