Job Description

Technical Production Coordinator CAF Rail Australia Dubbo Trust in Motion. We are currently seeking a Technical Production Coordinator. The role serves as the primary liaison between engineering and the shop floor, overseeing the endtoend execution and documentation of train modifications. The role is responsible for converting engineering specifications into actionable work instructions and managing the associated material flow to ensure all components are staged and ready for the assembly team. The position also entails the precise tracking of assembler labour hours and the maintenance of detailed build records to ensure technical and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role provides direct support to the Manufacturing Manager in optimizing assembly line processes by supporting the implementation of efficiency improvements. This position requires a blend of technical blueprint interpretation, material coordination and tracking to ensure the manufacturing team meets its production and quality targets. Required Qualifications & Skills Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Software Proficiency: Knowledge in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel for data and labour tracking. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical tasks to assemblers while providing concise data reports to management. Soft Skills Hybrid Mindset: Comfortable moving between a desk (admin/planning) and the shop floor (technical execution). Attention to Detail: In rail, a missed washer or a miscalculated hour can have massive downstream effects. Problem Solver: Bring three potential solutions to the table when problems arise. Desired Qualifications and Skills A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment (Rail, Aerospace, or Automotive preferred).
