Your new role 0.8 FTE Part time fixed term until 30th June 2027 in accordance with the funding agreement based in headspace Wagga Wagga, NSW Annual Salary between $94,791.84 to $96,140.49, plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement. The Work and Study Vocational Specialist delivers the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program at headspace Wagga Wagga, supporting young people facing barriers to employment or education. The role involves proactive outreach, strong youth engagement, and linking young people with suitable work or study opportunities. The specialist also advises clinical staff and builds partnerships with employers, training providers, education institutions, community organisations, and health professionals to improve vocational outcomes. Duties In consultation with the Manager, headspace Wagga Wagga, the Vocational Specialist is expected to: Manage a caseload of young people, assessing vocational needs and supporting entry or return to employment and/or education. Develop and implement vocational action plans collaboratively with young people, their supports, and the multidisciplinary team. Assist with job search, applications, interview preparation, and liaison with employment/education providers. Provide ongoing, individualised support to sustain employment or education placements. Engage with employers to create opportunities and support inclusive workplaces for young people with mental health challenges. What youll need to succeed Tertiary qualifications including relevant professional registration as required and/or experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career development or a related field. Extensive knowledge of issues that impact young people when accessing employment and/or educational opportunities. Demonstrated experience placing and supporting young people with complex needs in employment and educational settings. Demonstrated experience and success at initiating and sustaining collaborative partnerships with a range of organisations within the employment and education service system. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with young people who are experiencing a mental health issue.
