Steamatic Canberra is seeking a motivated and career-driven Restoration Project Manager / Assessor to join our growing operations team. This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for assessing, quoting, coordinating, and overseeing restoration projects following fire, flood, storm, mould, and accidental damage events across the ACT region. We are looking for someone who is practical, organised, confident dealing with people, and capable of managing projects in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same. Whether you already have restoration industry experience or come from a strong operational, construction, insurance, facilities, or trade background, we are prepared to invest in the right person. About the Role Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating restoration projects from initial assessment through to completion. This role combines: - Property and damage assessments - Project coordination - Client and insurer communication - Leadership and problem solving - Operational support and field-based management This is not a desk-only role. We are looking for someone willing to be involved onsite, support technicians, solve problems quickly, and take ownership of outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Conduct detailed onsite assessments of fire, water, mould, storm, and accidental damage claims - Prepare accurate scopes, reports, quotations, and project documentation - Coordinate and oversee restoration projects to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard - Manage client, insurer, and stakeholder communication throughout the restoration process - Support and guide restoration technicians onsite - Assist in managing project timelines, resources, equipment, and subcontractors where required - Monitor project progress, costs, and margins - Contribute to continuous improvement and operational performance - Participate in occasional after-hours emergency response when required About You You are organised, solutions-focused, calm under pressure, and capable of managing multiple priorities at once. You take pride in professionalism, communication, and accountability, and you enjoy working in an environment where every day presents different challenges.
