To be considered for this role you must have: AQF Associate Diploma/Advance Diploma, or higher-level qualification or at least three years of relevant experience in industry in similar position to substitute the formal qualification. With formal qualifications, 1 year of experience in similar role. You must be Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or must have full time work rights in Australia Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for overseeing the kitchen operation of the business and coordinate the work of cooks. Responsible for designing the menu, review food and beverage purchases, and often train cooks and other food preparation workers. Responsible for Preparation, cooking and presenting dishes as per business menu and demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control and end to end food production. Mitigating food wastage, maximising yield from food products. Ensure the quality of all received goods by matching accompanied invoices, checking the quality of perishable goods (i.e., meat, chicken, seafood, dry goods, vegetables, bread, and rice) and followed by ensuring the goods are kept in proper storage. Supervise and assist with the training of cooks and other kitchen staff. Discuss food preparation issues with other kitchen staff, managers and wait staff. Suggest innovation and commercially viable ideas to improve food quality and introduce new seasonal dishes. Check freshness of food and ingredients. Maintaining personal equipment, knives and uniforms. Maintaining Occupational Health and Safety practices in the kitchen by maintaining correct food preparation, handling, storage as well as prudent kitchen procedures as per health and safety standards. Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality. Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies. Key Behaviors: Substantial background in preparing delicious curries as per business menu. Familiar with different culinary cooking methods, products and techniques. Knowledge of all continental spices and cooking tools.
