Avondale University is seeking a Curriculum Officer to join the Student Administration Services team on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week. Be challenged and imagine with us This exciting role involves working across academic and student administration functions in support of efficient, effective, high quality and compliant processes and practices in the areas of course curriculum and information management. What will you do? Some of the main duties will include: Coordinate the setup of approved courses/units in the various university course management systems across both higher education and VET (as needed), including short course/non accredited programs and accredited programs. Monitor and assure the accuracy of course-related information that is provided to Avondale staff, students and prospective students across both higher education, short courses and VET. Ensure the timely publication of course-related information across various Avondale systems in consultation with academic staff, Director of SAS, Quality Office, academic committees and DVCA. Oversee the administrative processes and related Student Management System (SMS) sub-system configurations that support the course management lifecycle. Provide support to Academic Quality Office/DVCA & staff in relation to course development, information and data. Provide first-level professional learning for professional and/or academic staff members engaged in the administrative processes relating to the development and maintenance of courses and units in new and existing systems. Contribute positively to the continuous improvement of these processes and systems. Other duties or responsibilities as required within the incumbents knowledge, skill and ability. About you To be successful in the Curriculum Officer role, you will be a dynamic and responsive team player committed to delivering administrative activities to support education delivery and compliance requirements at Avondale. Essential criteria Degree level qualification with at least 2 years of work experience in a relevant field, or extensive experience. High level interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders. Capable digital literacy and the flexibility to adapt to various software platforms and support the learning of others in use of these. Proven ability to achieve shared goals across multi-functional or multi-disciplinary teams in order to achieve institutional priorities. Demonstrated understanding of the importance of accurate systems and business processes to achieve high quality, compliant outcomes in response to external regulatory and legislative requirements. A sound working knowledge of the principles of academic governance. Willingness to comply with all workplace health & safety policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken and ensure that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others at Avondale. Desirable criteria The holder of this position would benefit from: experience working in the student administration area of a higher education or VET provider. having completed an AQF Level 8 or above award having a working knowledge of Teams, SharePoint and Power BI reporting tools.
