Operational Media Manager, Clerk Grade 9/10, Wollongong Opportunity to lead a dynamic team of Media and Communications specialists in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Work in an operational role, supporting volunteers as they serve communities of NSW One-year temporary opportunity (maternity leave cover) Location: Based in Wollongong About the opportunity The Operational Media Manager is responsible for leading a team to deliver external media communications during floods, storms, and tsunami that inform the community as well as protect, maintain and improve the brand and reputation of NSW SES. Youll lead the media training and development of SES members and oversee all external operational media. This is a fast-paced role that manages a team on a seven-day rotating roster. The successful candidate may be required to work in our State Command Centre including on weekends and out of hours during operational activity. Learn more here About you To be successful in this role you will have: Tertiary qualifications in journalism, media/communications or marketing and/or demonstrated significant experience working in media, public relations or corporate communications. Experience in planning, developing and implementing communication strategies, plans, media campaigns and events, as well as the capability to maintain awareness of critical issues within the media and report on them accordingly. A high proficiency in writing, editing and publishing various materials such as media releases, talking points, newsletters and web and social media content. Strong communicative and interpersonal skills to collaborate, advise and train various stakeholders. The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment to complete set tasks, with strong experience at managing a team to deliver results in a dynamic and past paced environment.
