Your new role Part time, Fixed Term 12 months in accordance with Funding Agreement based in headspace Wagga Wagga, NSW Annual Salary between $88,099.44 to $96,140.49, plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement. The headspace Youth Access Worker is responsible for the provision of case management services within the context of an integrated mental health service (headspace Wagga Wagga) for young people who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder or may be at risk of developing one. The position will operate within the operational and geographical boundaries of the headspace Wagga Wagga service. This position will also be responsible for providing guidance and support to other Youth Access Workers in collaboration with the centre manager. Duties In consultation with the Manager, headspace Wagga Wagga, the Youth Access Worker is to: Engage with young people aged 1225 experiencing or at risk of mental health and/or substance use issues. Facilitate access to headspace Wagga Wagga services and external supports for identified needs (e.g. counselling, accommodation, education/training). Provide information and guidance on mental health, substance use, and available support services. Advocate on behalf of young people with schools, employers, carers, and other service providers. Contribute to the development and implementation of headspace Wagga Wagga program strategies and plans. What youll need to succeed Essential Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Intensive Assertive Case Management, or related discipline Extensive experience in case management of young people within a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge, experience, understanding and demonstrated passion for, and interest in, the health and welfare issues affecting young people. Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the mental health needs of young people (12-25 years) and their families to work holistically with young people around mental health, health and wellbeing needs, family and domestic violence and youth from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to undertake screening and assertive management of clients and their carers to determine client care needs and assist clients to access necessary services.
