Assistant Manager Automotive RepairsWollongong-based | Work with a growing, national business About the Opportunity Bears Auto Group is growing, and were looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our Wollongong repair facility. This role is ideal for someone already working in the industrywhether in estimating, parts, or as a qualified panel beaterwho wants to step into a leadership position and build a long-term career in management. Youll work closely with the Site Manager to keep operations running smoothly, support the team, and ensure jobs move efficiently from intake through to delivery. This is a hybrid role combining desk-based responsibilities with hands-on workshop involvement. Youll be on the floor solving problems, coordinating jobs, and keeping the workshop moving What Youll Be Doing Youll play a key role in supporting workshop operations, coordinating jobs, and maintaining quality and workflow across the site. Youll be on the floor solving problems, coordinating jobs, and keeping the workshop moving Operations & Workflow Support Assist the Site Manager in overseeing daily workshop operations Help manage job flow from booking through to completion Ensure all jobs are updated accurately in iBody Identify delays or bottlenecks and escalate where required Estimating & Job Management Prepare and assist with repair estimates Manage estimates and variations through ibody where required Ensure accuracy between quoted works and completed repairs Parts Management Order and manage parts required for repairs Track parts deliveries and resolve delays Ensure correct parts are allocated to jobs and ready when needed Maintain organisation of parts and workflow alignment Customer & Handover Support front-of-house when required Conduct vehicle handovers to customers, ensuring a high-quality experience Handle basic customer issues and escalate when needed Team & Site Support Support technicians to keep jobs progressing efficiently Step in across different areas of the workshop as needed Assist with coordination of sublet work Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment Quality & Compliance Assist with final checks on completed vehicles Ensure repairs meet company and insurer standards Support WHS compliance across the site What Were Looking For Core Requirements Experience in automotive repairs (smash, hail, or related) Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities Confident communicator with both customers and workshop staff Hands-on attitude willing to step in where needed Ideal Background Panel beater or tradesperson looking to transition into management Experience in estimating, parts, or workshop coordination Exposure to iBody or similar systems Why Join Bears Auto Group?
