Senior Medical Officer Emergency Department Central Gippsland Health | Sale, Victoria An excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join the Emergency Department at Central Gippsland Health. This position offers the chance to provide highquality emergency care while contributing as a clinical leader and educator within a wellsupported regional health service. There is dedicated support for International Medical Graduates, including structured supervision and mentoring, as well as support from the Director of Clinical Training for those preparing for the AMC Clinical examination. About Central Gippsland Health Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a subregional health service and the primary provider of acute, aged care and community health services across the Wellington Shire. Located in Sale, approximately 215km east of Melbourne, the region offers easy access to the Gippsland Lakes, 90Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps. Emergency Department The ED includes: 2 resuscitation bays5 cubicles2 treatment rooms The department is supported by: FACEMsSenior Medical OfficersJunior Medical OfficersHighly skilled nursing staff Key Responsibilities Deliver highquality emergency medical care within approved scope of practiceProvide clinical leadership within the Emergency DepartmentSupport operational efficiency and patient flowEscalate service issues appropriately to the Hospital Coordinator or Executive teamFacilitate learning and supervision for JMOs, trainees, and studentsUndertake performance appraisals as requiredMaintain credentialing for invasive and noninvasive procedures Role Summary This role combines frontline emergency medicine practice with education and service leadership responsibilities.
