About The Role Cover a diverse range of storiesfrom breaking news to community features. Interview key stakeholders and uncover stories that matter. Work closely with the Editor and newsroom team to meet daily deadlines. Contribute engaging content across digital and social media platforms to continue to grow audience reach. Drive reader engagement through compelling and original reporting. About You A tertiary qualification in journalism or related field. Demonstrated experience researching, developing and delivering accurate news stories. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain trusted community relationships. Well developed writing and communication skills with confidence conducting interviews. Ability to manage competing headlines and adapt to changing news cycles. A strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines. Passion for local news with an interest in government reporting highly regarded. Digital production skills, or a strong desire to upskill in social media and multimedia journalism.
