Mental Health Peer Worker Location: Bondi Medicare Mental Health Centre - Bondi Junction, Sydney NSW Employment type: Full time, on site About the Role This role is for a Mental Health Peer Worker based in Bondi Junction. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of traumainformed specialist counsellors, delivering highquality mental health support to the local community. Qualifications Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or a relevant qualification Minimum 12 months experience working in a similar program Valid NSW Drivers License (ability to drive large cars and/or vans) Australian Police Check, NSW WWCC, and NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain before commencing) Strong set of values that guides your work, aligning with our program and organisational goals of Passion, Integrity, and Respect Great computer skills with proven technical literacy in Microsoft Office and reporting/customer management systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and compassionately Responsibilities Collaborate with customers to develop individualised personcentered recovery plans that incorporate identified wellbeing needs, strengths, and goals Provide psychosocial support to improve customer independence, drawing on lived experience to enhance the recovery journey Support and encourage customers to engage in activities they choose, including social, leisure, and community connections Keep customer records up to date on a daily basis using online systems and electronic databases Develop and maintain professional relationships and networks with customers, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders Support customers to navigate the Medicare Mental Health model of practice and access additional services as required Apply knowledge of traumainformed practice and cultural competence to every interaction Benefits Professional development opportunities for continuous learning and career growth Supportive team environment with a collaborative and motivated team Innovative culture that values creativity Flexible work arrangements for worklife balance Opportunity to make a positive impact in the local Bondi Waverley community Inclusive workplace valued for diversity and inclusion New Horizons is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
