Duties include measuring the total volume of material moved and quantities of material blasted, pegging mining areas, surveying mining configuration, and locating blast and explosive holes. Support daily tasks under the Senior Surveyors guidance, ensuring efficient survey function in the open pit environment. Maintain survey equipment to prescribed standards directed by the Senior Surveyor. Install and maintain a surface survey control network for accurate measurements. Conduct surveys related to drilling and blasting operations for safety and accuracy. Ensure adherence to design specifications by surveying pit and waste dump areas using various markers and instruments. Perform markups for ore, geological, and geotechnical structures, as well as endofmonth volumes, stockpile surveys, prism monitoring, water levels, and infrastructure surveys. Undertake exploration and grade control surveys, along with any other tasks as assigned. ABOUT YOU At least 2 years of survey experience in mining, preferably in a metalliferous opencut environment (Essential). Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class "C" Driver''s Licence (Essential). Good understanding of total station, GPS and drone operation (Desirable). Proficiency with Trimble survey equipment and Surpac survey software (Desirable). Grade II Authorisation or be in the process of obtaining this qualification or other relevant tertiary for Mine Surveyor (Desirable). RePL up to 25kg (Desirable).
