We are looking for dedicated Nurse Practitioners to bring their expertise to the Advanced Lung Disease Unit (ALDU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH). The Advanced Lung Disease Unit (ALDU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a specialised service that manages severe and complex lung conditions, including lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung disease providing comprehensive assessment, optimisation, and long-term management for patients with severe respiratory decline. We are offering 2 permanent part-time opportunities, each at FTE (hours per fortnight). Each role has a different focus for the 2 main arms of the ALDU Program at FSH: WA Lung Transplant Service As a Nurse Practitioner within the WA Lung Transplant Service, you will play a pivotal role in the care of patients with end-stage lung disease throughout their transplant journey. This includes leading advanced clinical assessments, coordinating complex pre-transplant work-ups, managing acute and chronic post-transplant issues, and providing expert education on immunosuppression, infection prevention, and long-term self-management. You will work autonomously while collaborating closely with the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to high-level clinical decision-making and service development. Pulmonary Hypertension Service In the Pulmonary Hypertension Service, the Nurse Practitioner functions as a key clinical leader in the assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of patients with suspected or confirmed pulmonary hypertension. You will undertake advanced diagnostic evaluation, initiate and titrate complex therapies, monitor treatment response, and provide continuity of care for a cohort requiring long-term, highly individualised management. Working within a multidisciplinary framework, you will support patients to optimise their functional capacity and quality of life while shaping best-practice models of care for this rare and challenging condition. Fiona Stanley Hospital is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service.
