Location Kalgoorlie, WA, AU Position Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Service team at the Kalgoorlie Pump Service Centre. The role involves installation, commissioning, adjustments & inspections of slurry pumps, valves and hydrocyclones in the Goldfields and greater WA mining region. It also includes onsite mechanical repairs and inspections to support operations and workshop repairs. The position reports to the Service Manager, Pumps. It is located in Kalgoorlie and ideally suited to a local resident. Domestic relocation assistance may be provided. Team You will join an experienced and dedicated team of Service Technicians who ensure operations and workshop repairs are completed on time and to a high standard. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities - Repair, refurbish and assemble pumps in accordance with OEM procedures. - Support Metso Pump Trials in the field. - Provide handson service work: adjustments, installation, commissioning and operation of pumps. - Write internal and external reports upon completion of each field service job. - Investigate customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered conditions of products. - Provide technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures. - Solve practical onthejob problems and provide solutions to customers and crews. - Promote company repair & service capabilities and obtain ongoing work. - Promote sales and use of oil wear and spare parts. - Identify sales opportunities for pumps and hydrocyclones. Requirements - Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps. - Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2years experience recognised in Australia. - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. - Current motor vehicle licence and ability to pass random medical and drug tests. - Physically fit. - Ability to travel on short notice. - Ability to work away from home for extended periods and extended hours, including weekends. - Rigging and dogging qualifications.
