With a strong focus on innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, Sonic Healthcare offers a collaborative and purpose-driven environment where your work directly contributes to better healthcare outcomes.About the OpportunitySonic Healthcare Australia Pathology is looking for a part-time Engineering Coordinator Inventory & Procurement based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, NSW.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating procurement, managing inventory and spare parts, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a national engineering team.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinating and generating purchase orders (POs) for engineering requirements, including capital equipmentLiaising with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm orders, and track deliveriesManaging the end-to-end lifecycle of spare parts, including receiving, tracking, storage, and invoicingMaintaining accurate inventory records and overseeing stock control processesMonitoring inventory systems and ensuring availability of critical componentsSupporting planning and coordination of preventative maintenance and equipment requirementsManaging vendor relationships, including warranty claims and service queriesPartnering with finance to support reporting, budgeting, and invoice reconciliationMaintaining organised documentation, records, and administrative systemsIdentifying and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiencyAbout YouTo qualify, you will need experience in an administrative, procurement, or inventory coordination role. Experience supporting engineering, maintenance, or technical teams will be highly regarded.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience using ERP, inventory, or procurement systemsStrong communication skills with the ability to engage with internal teams and external vendorsAbility to analyse data and generate meaningful reportsAs our ideal candidate, you will be proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, and comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders.This is a dynamic and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, ownership, and supporting technical teams behind the scenes.
