Note: This role is not with Hatch. It is for our partner AI Lab. Hatch sources, screens, and supports the Australian contributors who join. The role Contribute to AI research in flexible, casual, and part-time work. You will use your advanced mathematical training to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand mathematical reasoning, proof construction, and technical problem-solving. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment. Flexible hours, work from anywhere Open to PhDs and postdocs in Mathematics or closely related fields Suits people who care about their work and want to shape the future What youll be working on This project involves using your experience in mathematics to design rigorous, domain-relevant questions and review AI-generated responses for accuracy, logical consistency, and mathematical rigour. No prior AI or technical experience is required. Fully remote with a flexible, asynchronous schedule and no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 520 hours per week when participating in an active project. Placement depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for future projects as they become available. What were looking for Doctoral students and graduates (including those currently enrolled in a PhD program or in postdoctoral positions) in Mathematics or closely related fields. Strong background in advanced physical reasoning, mathematical modelling, theoretical analysis, and quantitative problem-solving across core areas such as classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, or related sub-disciplines.
