About the Role Reporting directly to the Technical Director, the business sees this an ideal role for someone currently acting as a Senior Technologist and leading a small team who wants to step into management. You will lead endtoend product development across new and existing products. You will cover the role of a senior technologist while also leading the team; working alongside them to execute handson formulation, trial work and product development while managing the department budget and building team capability to achieve the companys R&I strategy. Your role will cover: Doing Leading endtoend product development from concept to commercialisation (including formulation, bench development and factory trials) Owning the StageGate NPD process through Asana, ensuring projects progress through ideation, planning, development, validation and launch appropriately Optimising taste, texture and shelf life of new and existing products with a focus on continuous improvement to deliver cost savings, improved quality attributes and sustainability Maintain the recipe database; identifying issues related to product formulation and processing, proposing and implementing effective solutions. Leading Manage the NPD team, budget and all projects/timelines/deliverables Lead, mentor and develop the team in NPD fostering a high performance culture Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships (internally) with Quality, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain functions and (externally) with ingredients suppliers. About You You are a proven Senior Technologist leading a small team or already a manager of a small team of technologists within an agile and dynamic chilled or dairy manufacturer. You hold expertise across endtoend product development and have a depth of understanding with regulations (FSANZ, HAACP) and ingredients formulation (flavour, stabiliser technology etc). You hold a tertiary qualification in a food science field, a strong understanding of project methodologies and have a passion for both the doing (benchbased work) and managing people.
