Fixed Term (12 months) 1.0 FTE Postgraduate Fellow Radiology (MRI) - Department of Radiology | APPLY VIA ECREDENTIAL Applications are invited from a suitably qualified MRI Postgraduate Fellow for fixed term in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Radiology. Currently there are four MRI magnets, performing well over 8000 examinations per year covering all organ systems. The MRI fellow is supervised and trained by radiologists with subspecialty fellowship training in Neuro, Musculoskeletal and Body MRI applications. The department is active in basic science and clinical research programs. Some allocated time is provided for the MRI Postgraduate Fellow to participate in research projects, teaching, and additional subspecialty exposure. The MRI Postgraduate Fellow is required to participate in the afterhours oncall roster for MRI and to be involved in teaching and relevant clinical meetings. Applicants expecting to be awarded fellowship within 6 months are eligible to apply. The position will be for a period of twelve months for the 2027 Clinical Year. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District. Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Essential Requirements for Appointment Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCR as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award/ Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable) Sound clinical knowledge in MRI demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Selection Criteria Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Sound clinical knowledge in Diagnostic MRI Imaging Radiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research within the Department. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of more junior trainees and medical students, and familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support clinical research within the Department. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Practitioner. Preferred applicants with Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency, alternatively have an Australian working visa.
