On Country Academy is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation, approved by the Australian Quality Skills Authority (ASQA). We deliver high-quality training to support indigenous communities in the delivery of Ranger programs on their Country, often in remote areas.We specialise in the delivery of courses in environmental management, cultural and heritage sites, and practical and professional skills needed on Country. The outdoors is our classroom!As a rapidly growing RTO with continuing interest in the work we do, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Program & Training Manager to join our growing dynamic team. We are based in Fremantle, but offer the training in rural and remote areas.We offer our programs to communities in the Pilbara, Goldfields, and South-West of Western Australia, as well as developing programs in South Australia and Queensland. We are a sister company to Terra Rosa Consulting and support the Flinders University Archaeological Research Centre, and oversee the internal training for Terra Rosa Consulting staff.The role is initially a permanent full-time role. Whilst a lot of the work is required in the office, OCA offers flexible work arrangements to provide WFH opportunities as well as the role requiring travel to areas where training is conducted from time to time.On Country Academy has at the core of its mission to build the capacity of our partner organisations, including developing future trainers; and also aims to ensure there are quality employment outcomes for our students.This is a dynamic role that will provide a lot of work satisfaction for the incumbent in terms of variety, energy and satisfaction from making a real difference.We share the office space with Terra Rosa Consulting which creates a strong work dynamic with professional staff, many of whom spend time on Country. Our workplace culture is based on supporting our staff to succeed in their work and take enjoyment from the work we do.Your RoleAs the Program & Training Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and be a member of the OCA Leadership team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of On Country Academy, with core responsibilities to coordinate the training schedule and trainers, oversee the course development schedule and scope, and support compliance requirements aligned to the role.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining ScheduleLiaise with key partners to manage the schedule of training including:Trainer allocationCourses to be deliveredEnsure trainers are prepared for the training, including into-the-field and out-of-field expectationsEnsure training delivered is of high quality and aligned with OCA standards and requirementsEnsure OCA training provides a quality student experience and outcomesCourse DevelopmentManaging the processes and templates for course development to ensure materials produced meet the Standards required by ASQAMentor internal staff in the best practice for coursework developmentOversee both internal staff and external subject matter experts regarding course developmentLead the process of adding new courses to Scope with ASQA including meeting all required standards and compliance requirementsAssist in determining the appropriate Qualifications and Units of Competence for delivery by OCA to its target audiencesProvide guidance to staff on course delivery techniques and assessment strategies aligned to the target audienceLead the population and training for the SMS/LMS (Axcelerate)Assist in the appointment of external subject matter expertsComplianceProvide leadership support to the Administration & Compliance Coordinator to ensure all required regulatory requirements are met including AVETMISS reporting, trainer qualifications and student records.Management of OCA policies and procedures to ensure currency and alignment with RTO Standards 2025.Other DutiesEngage with partners for developing new programsParticipate in internal management meetingsAttend graduations and partner meetings when requiredAttendance at conferences as requiredOther duties aligned to the role.About YouYou will be a valued member of a professional team who care about the work they do.
