About the Role The Safety Caseworker (Working with Men) is a specialist role within the Safe and Respectful Communities (SaRC) team providing trauma-informed, risk-led and accountability-focused case management to men who have used, or are at risk of using, gender-based violence or other harmful behaviours. This includes individuals with an allegation raised against them, or where concerning or abusive behaviours have been identified. Responsibilities Managing reports of gender-based violence and safety concerns, providing trauma-informed, person-centred case management with risk assessments and behaviour-change support. Responding to crisis and critical incidents through immediate risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination with internal and external services. Delivering intake services and maintaining a client caseload, ensuring coordinated support via collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Contributing to improving reporting processes, policies, and service quality, while supporting prevention initiatives and behaviour-change programs. Handling administrative responsibilities such as case documentation, reporting, stakeholder liaison, and ongoing professional development. Key Selection Criteria Experience working in support services related to sexual assault, domestic and family violence or similarly complex concerns is highly regarded. Capacity to work with this subject matter is essential. Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed services to people from diverse backgrounds and needs. Demonstrated experience working in a team and engaging with a range of stakeholders in a complex organisation. Demonstrated experience supporting behaviour change and accountability, including engaging with men who use harm, assessing risk, supporting motivation for change. Salary and benefits Base salary range: $109,014 $120,596 per annum (HEW 7). 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
